- B.E./B.Tech in CSE/IT/related branch (final year allowed), or Master's in any Science subject from a recognised institute.
- Final-year undergraduate students can appear.
- Candidates with B.Sc + M.Sc in CS or related are eligible.
- Foreign nationals can appear without restriction.

The GATE 2027 exam will be conducted over six days on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027, in computer-based test mode. The exam will feature two sessions daily (forenoon and afternoon) across all 30 papers including Computer Science.
IIT Madras has launched the GATE 2027 official website and released the notification. Registration was initially scheduled for August 14 but has been rescheduled to August 27, 2026. The exam introduces a new Robotics and Automation paper, DigiLocker integration, and revised syllabus across multiple subjects.
IIT Guwahati declared the GATE 2026 results on March 19, 2026. The final answer key was released on March 19, and scorecards were made available on March 27, 2026. The results are accessible through the GOAPS portal.
