The July 2026 TN TET cycle was designated exclusively for working teachers appointed on or before September 1, 2025, aligning with government directives making TET mandatory for promotions and job security. Applications closed on April 10 after receiving thousands of registrations.

TN TRB announces two TN TET cycles for 2026
22 Jul 2026The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board's annual planner released in January 2026 confirmed two TN TET cycles this year - the first for working teachers with exams in July, and a second general cycle expected with notification in October and exams in December.

TRB Tamil Nadu confirmed that TET certificates issued will remain valid for life unless otherwise notified by the Government. Certificates released on 2 February 2026 for qualified candidates.

The Teachers Recruitment Board of Tamil Nadu released the provisional answer key for TN TET 2026 on July 16, covering both Paper 1 and Paper 2 conducted on July 4-5. Over 61,000 candidates appeared for Paper 1 and over 1.6 lakh for Paper 2 in this special edition for in-service teachers.

Digital certificate generation facility activated for previous TN TET qualified candidates
23 Apr 2026The TN TRB has enabled online certificate download facility for candidates who qualified in earlier TN TET cycles. Eligible candidates can log in to the official portal using their registration credentials to access and download their digitally signed eligibility certificates.
